Board Member, Student Intern Engagement Chair
Samir S. Achkar is a Senior Asset Management Analyst at JLL. He manages a portfolio of JLL’s commercial multifamily, assisted living facility, and memory care facility loans insured by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Additionally, Samir aides in the Ginnie Mae (GNMA) securitization process, where loan pools are standardized for sale on public markets.
Prior to joining JLL, Samir received his Master’s degree in Finance and his Graduate Certificate in Real Estate from American University’s Kogod School of Business. While at Kogod, Samir was a Portfolio Manager at the University’s Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) Fund and led the planning and preparation of two full-scale real estate development proposals.
Samir met Dr. Scott Miller and joined the team at IMPACT Microfinance while pursuing his Bachelor’s degree in Finance at The University of Tampa. He quickly became fond of IMPACT’s model of providing resources to underserved communities. Samir found fulfillment in working with IMPACT to help disadvantaged entrepreneurs bring their visions to life. Samir hopes to remain a part of IMPACT’s efforts to facilitate entrepreneurs’ success by removing obstacles and providing resources.
